Chestnut Ridge Metro Park
8445 Winchester Road, NW

Chestnut Ridge is located three miles southeast of Canal Winchester. This 486-acre Metro Park includes beautiful woodlands, open fields and outcrops of blackhand sandstone. A two-mile nature trail and boardwalk opened in late 1988 provides a view of some of the most beautiful scenery in central Ohio.

Slate Run Metro Park
1375 State Route 674 North

Slate Run Metro Park is a 1700-acre park located 5 miles south of Canal Winchester. Wooded areas housing a variety of native trees, shrubs and wildflowers make up half of the park. Visitors can also enjoy a 3.5-mile nature trail and picnicking facilities. The park is open daily from 7 a.m. until dark.

Slate Run Living Historical Farm is located within Slate Run Metro Park and is fully operational. Daily functions performed on the farm, from cropping to barnyard and household chores, use actual late 1880's machinery and methods. The principal farm buildings and residence were built on the site between 1856 and 1881.
