The mission of Main Street Canal Winchester is to stimulate economic vitality, improve the visual appearance and the quality of life of downtown by promoting downtown as a great place to live, work, shop and invest. Main Street Canal Winchester works to achieve this goal by implementing a plan of work developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation referred to as the Main Street Program. The Main Street approach to downtown revitalization involves four volunteer committees; Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization, and Promotions all working simultaneously to achieve their separate goals and objectives. To review those goals and objectives, please refer to the Main Street Canal Winchester committees. The Main Street Program is dependent on volunteers from the community to work on committees and serve on the board as a guide for the betterment of our downtown. New members and volunteers are always welcome. Main Street Canal Winchester is actively seeking new members. Downtown boundaries are defined by Main Street Canal Winchester as U.S. Route 33 to the north, Franklin Street to the south, West Street to the west, and Trine Street to the east. FULL MEMBERSHIP: Includes all businesses in the downtown that would benefit from advertising and promotions. These businesses participate in group advertising, will be listed in Main Street Canal Winchester's map and may use Main Street Canal Winchester's logo for their advertising. Membership through December 31, 2009 is $75. SPONSOR MEMBERSHIP: In this category individuals and businesses outside the downtown area and residents within the downtown area can show their support for the Main Street Canal Winchester. They will not participate in group advertising but will be listed in a separate category on the Main Street Canal Winchester map. Membership through December 31, 2009 is $25 for a family membership, $40 for Home Based Business Members and $100 for Sponsor Businesses (storefronts outside of the downtown boundaries). Membership does have its rewards!! Choose the appropriate membership, then complete our membership form. We also hold a monthly Member Coffee on the third Friday of each month. Meet and network with other Main Street Canal Winchester members at the Harvest Moon Coffee House (7 N. High) beginning at 8:00 a.m. Main Street Canal Winchester will host or participate in the following events: |
